Rename Dhaka Airport

Dhaka International Airport is the biggest airport in Bangladesh. But it's a shame for the nation that it has been named after a person who was a power hijacker, conspirator, killer, marshal law introducer, dictator and enemy of civil democracy. His name was Ziaur Rahman. He was the villain of the century.

It is clear that Zia was a part of the conspiracy of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's assassination.

"...according to Rashid's interview with Mascarenhas,...the response from zia was, "...go ahead" with full knowledge that a coup was in the offing, Zia remained silent and waited for his own moment. ... on the original night of August 15th, Khaled had apparently urged immidiate action against the Majors, but was dissuaded by Zia.... It seems clear that khaled, like many others, was unaware of Zia's pre-August contacts with the Majors and the representatives of Mustaque circle. It is now clear that in the pre-August period Ziaur Rahman was simultaneously maintaining two principal tracks of clandestine contacts, one with Mustaque camp and one with the J.S.D. .. He told the Majors in March that he would not oppose any coup moves against Mujib, but nor lead any. He appears also to have been in contact with other representatives of Mustaque group, allegedly including Chashi, promising to neutralize any reaction from units in the Army to a successful coup."

( Bangladesh: The Unfinished Revolution. by- Lawrence Lifschultz.)

Being the 2nd man in Bangladesh Army, his duty was to prevent the coup and save the life of president, Zia remained silent and did not do his duty while he knew what was going to be happened that night. Clearly he was a traitor.

Zia rewarded the killers of Bangabandhu by giving them millions of taka (money) and by recruiting them in the foreign ministry. He also tried to protect them from being punished and included the indemnity act in the 5th amendments of the constitution.

Zia hijacked power by using his guns and declared himself country's president when he was Armycheif. He violated the constitutional law and also violated the public service regulations. He was the introducer of marshal law in Bangladesh. I think he was the most notorious villain of the century.

It is the shame for the nation to name anything after his hateable name. It is an insult for those people of Bangladesh who live overseas, when returning home, first time they touch the land of their motherland which is named after a traitors name.

We urge all pro-liberation people of the country to come forward and give pressure to the present Latifali fake elected BNP razaker government to rename the Dhaka International Airport, and show respact to our patriotism.
